Not Much Competition…Yet

We hand out prizes quarterly in our Fairbanks and Interior Alaska Photo Contest. After wrapping up the voting for January through April, we were expecting a cascade of new shots for the May through August round. To our surprise there have only been a few photos submitted as of today. This gives aspiring photographers the opportunity to leap into the competition-void with an astonishing and breathtaking series of up to five master works (cheesiness and over-dramatization intended). Or…you could just upload a couple of cool shots from your trip and see how they rate during the voting at the end of August.

Voted Best for the First Quarter

The first quarter winners of our Fairbanks and Interior Alaska Photo Contest have been determined. John Dykes captured the most first and second place votes with his northern lights pictures, and Bill Brophy secured third place with a sled dog closeup. Enter Before the End of March

Entrants in our Fairbanks and Interior Alaska Photo Contest for the first quarter will be judged by our staff at the end of this month. There have been some terrific pictures submitted, and the variety this time around is better than ever. If you’ve been a Fairbanks visitor and have photos to share, we’d love to see them. You still have a couple of weeks to get in on this month’s judging, just read the entry rules and upload up to five favorites. The great thing about operating our Fairbanks and Interior Alaska Photo Contest year-round is the surprise of fantastic new photos every couple of weeks. Above are a few of the great new entries. If you are a Fairbanks resident, or have made a recent trip to our area and have photos you would like to share, we would love to see them. Every quarter we will be passing out a few small prizes for our staff’s three favorite shots.

The FCVB staff will soon begin voting for their favorite entry in our most recent Fairbanks/Interior Alaska Photo Contest. The quality and variety of pictures submitted was outstanding.
