We saw hundreds of clicks this week on terrific photos, blog posts and other Fairbanks-related articles. Two really great Interior Alaska images topped the list. Another set of photos from the Denali-area just made the top seven. Thanks to area photographers for documenting and posting their experiences. Our Twitter followers are certainly appreciative.

We are a little late in announcing and accepting votes for our first quarter Fairbanks Photo Contest. We had more entries than anyone can ever remember in a single three-month period for Jan. through Apr. 2010. As you can see below, all of the entries are terrific. Selecting only three favorites is going to be a difficult task, but alas, that is your task. Select and vote for your three favorites below:

Entries for Quarter 2, 2010 are already pouring in, so if you want to get in on the next round, head on over to the photo contest homepage and enter your five best Fairbanks, Denali, Arctic or Interior Alaska photos. Photo Contest Winners, New Round Open

We had a lot of really great photos submitted in the final few months of 2009. According Inside Alaska visitors and Fairbanks Convention and Visitors Bureau staff, the three photos below were the best.

Congratulations to Yvonne Bennett – First Place, Charlaine Williams – Second Place and W.O. Vinson – Third Place! Your prize packages have been boxed up and will be on the way soon.

Great Fairbanks Northern Lights Video

This video is made from a series of over 350 northern lights photos taken in Fairbanks. This method seems to capture the movement of the aurora a little better than the much more common time-lapse videos.

Thanks to Carol Falcetta for capturing these images and producing this video.
