Photo Contest Winners, New Round Open

We had a lot of really great photos submitted in the final few months of 2009. According Inside Alaska visitors and Fairbanks Convention and Visitors Bureau staff, the three photos below were the best.

Congratulations to Yvonne Bennett – First Place, Charlaine Williams – Second Place and W.O. Vinson – Third Place! Your prize packages have been boxed up and will be on the way soon.

Those who would like to enter our Fairbanks, Denali, Interior and Arctic Alaska Photo Contest for January through March 2010 can do so now by first reading our guidelines, then entering up-to-five images. Let us know if you would like any more information. We always appreciate your participation.

Great Fairbanks Northern Lights Video

This video is made from a series of over 350 northern lights photos taken in Fairbanks. This method seems to capture the movement of the aurora a little better than the much more common time-lapse videos.

Thanks to Carol Falcetta for capturing these images and producing this video.

John Dykes captured the most first and second place votes with his northern lights pictures, and Bill Brophy secured third place with a sled dog closeup. New Inside Alaska Theme Launch

Regular readers will have noticed a substantial shift in the look and feel of Inside Alaska over the past few days. Thanks to those who contributed heavily including:

WordPress theme Developer Brian Gardner for customizing his Revolution theme specifically for Inside Alaska.
