Fairbanks is bidding to host the 2014 Arctic Winter Games
Arctic Winter Games (AWG) is an event that takes place every two years with participants from Alaska, Canada, Greenland, Russia, and Sapmi. Athletes participate in 20 sports and cultural events. Arctic Winter Games promotes Athletic Competition, Cultural Exhibition and Social Interchange.

Theme Contest
Fairbanks will have a contest to select the theme for the 2014 AWG. This contest is open to all ages and residents of the Fairbanks North Star Borough. Persons can submit [below] more than one theme.

Deadline for the AWG 2014 Theme Contest is May 1, 2010. Three finalists will be chosen by a committee and community voting will take place online and by ballot at select locations between May 4-14, 2010. Based on the community’s feedback and our judges’ final opinions, a winner will be selected. The Grand prize winner will be announced on May 24, 2010.
Parameters
Themes need to be:
• Short so they can be used on a variety of materials including pins, pens, clothing, letterhead, etc.
• Simple so it is easy to read and remember
For the Winners
The Grand prize contest winner will receive a Thule Frontier 668ES Rooftop Cargo Box donated by Alaska Outdoor Rentals and Guides. The first runner-up will receive a round of golf at North Star Golf. The second runner-up will receive a Fairbanks-themed gift basket.

By submitting any theme for the 2014 Arctic Winter Games, you hereby grant to the Fairbanks Convention and Visitors Bureau and the AWG Bid Committee and its affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees and assigns, an irrevocable, perpetual and royalty-free right to use, reproduce, edit, display, transmit, prepare derivative works of, modify, publish and otherwise make use of the submitted theme in any and all media, whether now known or hereinafter created, throughout the world and for any purpose. In addition to other things, the rights granted to the FCVB includes but is not limited to the right to crop, censor, compress, edit, feature, caption, affix logos to, and to otherwise alter or make use of the submitted theme.
By submitting any theme to the FCVB and AWG Bid Committee, you hereby represent and warrant that the submitted theme does not and shall not infringe on any copyright, any rights of privacy or publicity of any person, or any other right of any third party, and you have the right to grant any and all rights and licenses granted to the FCVB and AWG Bid Committee herein, including but not limited to all necessary rights under copyright, free and clear of any claims or encumbrances.
